Our History
HOMAT’s history is a sequence of decisions: open a school, improve the work, add new campuses where families need them, and keep giving students opportunities to compete beyond the classroom.
HOMAT marked its 30th anniversary in September 2025.
From one school in Igbogbo to a group of schools
The dates below trace the growth of the school family and some of the milestones that changed what HOMAT students could access.
HOMAT Comprehensive School opens
The first school was established in Igbogbo, Ikorodu, in September 1995.
HOMAT Pivotal School follows
The school family expands one year after the first campus.
HOMAT Immaculate School is established
Another campus extends access to the HOMAT model within the Ikorodu area.
School of Basic Studies
HOMAT adds a dedicated academic pathway for students needing structured progression and support.
HOMAT Unique School, Odogunyan
The group expands into Odogunyan.
Students compete internationally
HOMAT receives an Honorable Mention at the International Sustainable World Energy, Engineering Project Olympiad in Houston, and records a SAGE Nigeria project award in the same year.
HOMAT Academy, Idi-Iroko
The sixth school listed in today’s HOMAT family is established.
30 years of HOMAT
The school community marks three decades since the first campus opened.

HOMAT continues to combine classroom teaching, external examinations, extracurricular competition and technology-supported school processes.
